Spix parrots from movie Rio is critically endangered

The Spix parrot species that inspired the animated movie “Rio” is considered critically endangered with only about 100 birds in the world, all in captivity. It’s also very possible that the species is extinct in the wild as well, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Watch for more to learn about the Spix parrots.
